Alright, folks, let me lay it out plain and simple: those Europeans are onto something with this ethnocentrism business. They’re saying, “This is our land, our people, and we’re keeping it that way”—no beating around the bush. It’s like when we had to stand up in Alberta and tell Ottawa to keep their hands off our oil money—you protect what’s yours, period. They’re not afraid to say, “We’re French, German, Italian, and we’re proud of it,” and they’re not letting outsiders water down what makes them special. Takes guts to draw that line in the sand, and I respect the heck outta that. Over here, we’ve got our multiculturalism and all, but maybe Europe’s showing us there’s something to be said for sticking to your roots and not apologizing for it. Plain common sense, if you ask me.
